Delivery services in some parts of Nova Scotia affected due to wildfires

Wildfires and evacuation orders are affecting mail and parcel delivery in some regions of Nova Scotia. Canada Post continues to put contingency measures in place, assessing the situation and options, to best serve residents of these communities and to keep them connected. The safety of our employees is our number one priority and Red and Yellow delivery service alerts have been issued.
As of June 16, wildfires are impacting mail services to the following communities:
- Port Clyde
On June 15, mail delivery resumed in Clyde River.
Mail for Port Clyde residents is available for pick up at:
2398 Highway 3, Barrington
Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 8 am to 12:45 pm, 1:45 pm to 5 pm
Thursday, 8 am to 12:45 pm, 1:45 pm to 6 pm
Please remember to bring valid government-issued photo identification to pick up your mail.

Free Mail Forwarding service now available
Effective on June 6, eligible residents can receive free Mail Forwarding service for up to 12 months. Impacted residents have until July 5 to register for the free service.
Mail Forwarding is an important service not just for ongoing mail, but it also provides a vital link with government and relief agencies going forward. If you receive regular cheques through the mail, it’s important for you to register.
By registering, Canada Post will be able to ship mail to a different address selected by the customer. This can be done on a short-term basis or for longer periods, even if the address is temporary.

- Barrington Passage: B0W 1G0
- Barrington: B0W 1E0
- Clarks Harbour: B0W 1P0
- Clyde River: B0W 1R0
- McGray: B0W 2G0
- Port Clyde: B0W 2S0
- Shelburne: B0T 1W0
- Tantallon: B3Z 1A0
Can register with a credit card and government-issued ID by following the steps below:
- Go online at canadapost.ca/mailforward. Note that you will have to provide a credit card payment in order to authenticate the transaction but you will be refunded in 5-10 business days. We apologize for this inconvenience, but to make this available quickly, we have had to take this approach.
- Go to any post office in Nova Scotia. You will not be required to show a credit card, just your government-issued photo ID. Retail employees will help you with the process, which is free of charge.
