Mail Forwarding reroutes mail from your old address to your new address, so it may take longer for mail to reach you, especially if the distance is significant.
Here is what you can do:
- Allow at least 5 business days from the service start date before you begin receiving forwarded mail.
- Make sure you know how mail is delivered at your new address (for example, at the door or through a community mailbox.)
- Verify there is nothing obstructing the letter carrier from getting to your mailbox, such as construction, snow or ice on your walkway.
- Review the Mail Forwarding service limitations. If you are expecting parcels or other excluded deliveries, make sure to advise senders of your new address.
