Approval
If you’re a commercial customer with unique processing needs, you may elect to develop your own shipping or container labels instead of printing labels using our Electronic Shipping Tool (EST). This will include generating shipping or container labels according to our most recent specifications.
All customer generated labels are subject to review and approval.
We've designed the approval process to make sure custom system outputs conform to our specifications and provide:
- Efficient mail handling
- Accurate billing tracking
- Timely delivery
The labels produced by a custom system must produce:
- The proper:
- Addressing formats
- Service identifiers
- Delivery options
- A properly encoded formatted barcode as per our barcode specifications
To get our approval, the shipping or container labels produced by custom systems must meet the minimum requirements as outlined in the appropriate shipping or container label specification document. We must approve additions or changes to the layout of data that appears on the shipping or container label. Barcode encoding must not be changed.
Physical labels are required for testing and final approval.
These labels will be tested for:
- Barcode data content
- Print quality
- Overall label layout
