Medical or biological materials must not be:

• Infectious
• Poisonous
• Otherwise prohibited under:
  • The Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act 
  • The Food and Drugs Act 
  • Any other applicable law

Examples of medical or biological material:

• Human and animal blood specimens
• Spinal fluid
• Pathological specimens
• Culture specimens (urine, sputum, and swabs)

If allowed for mailing, the medical or biological material must meet packaging and labelling requirements.
