As negotiations continue between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), the 21-day cooling-off period ended November 2. This means either party could initiate a labour disruption after providing a minimum notice of 72 hours.

Canada Post has presented new global offers to the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) for both the Urban and RSMC (Rural and Suburban Mail Carriers) bargaining units.

Today, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) announced it has received a strike mandate from its members. With the cooling-off period coming to an end on November 2, Canada Post and CUPW must approach the negotiations with greater urgency to avoid a labour disruption.

Yesterday, the federal government appointed mediators to assist Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) as the parties continue to negotiate new collective agreements for both the Urban and RSMC (Rural and Suburban Mail Carriers) bargaining units.

Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) continue to negotiate following the end of thae conciliation period. On August 13, the parties had moved into a 60-day conciliation period with the help of neutral conciliators to work towards negotiated agreements for both the Urban and RSMC (Rural and Suburban Mail Carriers) bargaining units.

Canada Post has received counter offers from the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) for both the Urban and Rural and Suburban Mail Carriers (RSMC) bargaining units. The counter proposals come in response to the global offers Canada Post had presented to CUPW on September 25, 2024.

After nearly 11 months of constructive discussions with the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), Canada Post has presented global offers to CUPW for both the Urban and Rural and Suburban Mail Carriers (RSMC) bargaining units.
